The district BNP has alleged that BNP Vice Chairman Abdullah Al Noman`s car was attacked on his way to attend the BNP rally in Khagrachari. The rear glass of the private car was broken. District BNP said that BNP leader Noman was saved but 5 leaders and activists including district BNP vice-president were injured.
Today at 11:30 am, a chase-and-dash took place between BNP and Awami League workers in the Narikel Bagan area of College Road in Khagrachari town.
District BNP President and former member of Parliament Wadud Bhuiyan said that central leader Abdullah Al Noman, who came to attend the pre-scheduled program, was attacked in front of the district Awami League office in a planned way. The Central Vice Chairman`s car was also attacked. He survived the attack, but five people, including district BNP Vice-President Khetramohan Roja, were injured.
District Jubo League General Secretary KMH Ismail Hossain said that while the leaders and activists who came to join the pre-arranged peace rally to protest the countrywide terrorism and anarchy of BNP-Jamaat were resting in the office, the rowdy BNP leaders and activists hurled bricks and stones from the BNP convoy towards the office in a provocative manner.
Ariful Islam, officer-in-charge of Khagrachari Model Police Station, said that no major incident happened.
